Frilly Baby: 7 Month Update

Seven months has come and gone. My baby’s getting older, cuter, funnier, busier, more curious, and happier. She’s developing her personality, and it is mind blowing to be able to watch it happen right in front of our eyes.

We’ve certainly progressed a lot since our six month update. Hadley’s sitting up now on her own for extended periods of time. I can plunk her on her mat in the middle of the living room and watch her play for a while before she gets tired. She loves with a new toy we got her – a musical farm yard cube. It’s soft, makes animal sounds, has lots of crinkly and soft bits to play with, and something to chew on.

Speaking of chewing… my girl’s got two teeth now. We didn’t even know she was teething. One morning I was sitting next to her on the couch and she opened her mouth wide and looked up at me, and I saw the first tooth! A tiny, shiny white spot – her lower right middle tooth. It wasn’t long, maybe a week, and the second tooth showed up. That was about two weeks ago, and now you can see them quite regularly.

I’ve been trying desperately to get a picture of those little teeth. This is the best I’ve been able to do:

Good thing she’s got those teeth too, since we’re trying lots of new foods now.

Squash.

Carrots.

We’ve also tried oat cereal, barley cereal, bananas, and pears. Today we’ll be trying either green beans or sweet potatoes. So far Hadley’s favourites are oat cereal, squash, and carrots. She is not a fan of peas – at all. I think that might just be a texture thing and we’ll try them again soon, maybe for supper tonight.

It’s been a busy month for us – I can only imagine how busy we’ll be this coming month.
