I love adding spices and flavours to our regular coffee, especially during the festive season. It just feels so… festive.
This is a very simple recipe for spiced coffee using orange zest, cinnamon, and maple syrup.
Enjoy a cup in your favourite mug on Christmas morning, or any morning. My favourite mug is my Murdoch Mysteries ‘Save Crabtree’ mug. My husband surprised me with it one night when I got home from work. It was such a thoughtful gesture and one of my favourite moments of the past year. Thanks, Husband.
[Recipe] Spiced Coffee
Makes a 12-cup pot of brewed coffee
orange peel or zest
1/2 tsp cinnamon
pinch of salt
2 Tbsp maple syrup
Add the desired amount of coffee grounds you need to make a 12-cup pot of coffee.
To the brewing basket, add the orange peel, cinnamon, and salt.
Before starting the brew, add the maple syrup to the pot.
Brew coffee as usual.
Enjoy in your favourite mug.
